My mother should be getting out today - she is really champing at the bit to get home. She is looking very well, really, now, let’s hope this has got the message across to her that she should not try to hide it when she’s ill and shouldn’t balk at seeing the doctor ( Read more... )

The good news is my mother is getting out on Friday, all being well. The congestive heart failure has responded to treatment well, and the mitral incompetence is very slight. The main problem is likely to be with her mobilisation, as she does have difficulties in that area anyway.

Much relief all round, really.

The current plan is for my mother to get home sometime next week. :)

My mother is looking much better, no longer needing oxygen, and being mobilised a bit by physios. She is well enough to be really bored with being in hospitals. It will still be a while before she gets home, though.

My mother is looking better than she was, although still somewhat breathless. She still hasn’t had the EchoCG, she is responding to treatment; she is, though,feelineg a bit worse today than a couple of days ago. Thanks for the good wishes, by the way, to those who sent them/posted them/whatever. It is appreciated.

My mother has not been too well, lately, and despite my and my father’s efforts to persuade her to see a doctor see was intransigent in her refusal to do so. Yesterday he insisted, though, and within a few hours my mother had been admitted to hospital.
